WHAT? FONIO?
Pronounced ( ) the grain was once and in many places still is recognized as one of the most beneficial and most important grain to be harvested in the dry climates of the west coast African countries. It's a species of millet grown in countries such as Mali, Senegal, Chad, Brukina Faso, Nigeria, Ghana and Togo.
The ancient grain is used in a wide verity of ways post harvest, from cereal and pourage, to quinoa and what we consider the "proper alternative to rice and more".
WHY FONIO?
Filled with rich amino acids, iron and fiber, there was no way we could not serve the absolute best for you. Best part, its naturally gluten free.
Unfortunately with the rise of globalization and modernization Africa has lost what we believe is its most significant grain of all, being replaced with foods such as rice and spaghetti.
We hope to use this platform to reintroduce the lost grain, for the well-being of all.
